The logo created for KJS Designs is simple with black text and a clean design to express the company is a professional business. However since KJS Designs is a web based company who's goal is to promote other businesses in a fun and exciting way it is imparitive to display creativity and personality in the company logo. In an attempt to express the creative aspect and bring uniqueness to the site, the text of the logo was warped into a flag style and the graphic representation of the company is a colorful bright paint splatter suggesting the artistic natures of the designers holding postions within the company.

The logo was created in Photoshop Elements 7. A new 400 x 150 px image was created with 72 resolution, RBG color and transparency attributes selected. The text was written in Cataneo, 52 pt black #000000 font. The text was then warped using the flag style set to horizontal -50%. The splat image was imported as a seperate layer from one of the hard drives within my desktop computer. It's origin, I can not recall however I have had it in my possession for many years. The original image then suffered adjustments of hue -76 and saturation +19 to achieve the dark blue coloring.

The favicon was created from the graphical layer of the logo above. The image was resized to 32 x 32 px and converted to an .ico file using Icon Forge. During the conversion process the background did not retain it's transparency and became white in color. It was recolored to the lightest shade of blue within the image using the eye dropper and pencil tools so that it blended more readily with the browser menu and tool bars.

To create the animated version of the logo, the graphical layer of the printable logo above was exposed to 10 unique adjustments in hue and saturation which created the various colors seen in the animation. Each layer was then individually selected with the text layer and saved for the web creating 11 different optimized images. One letter of the text was recolored to purple rgb(102,0,153) with each new save. These images were then placed in Microsoft's Gif Animator in a specific order with transparency selected. Looping was also selected, with the repeat forever preference set to a 30 s duration.
