Ah, another champion in the making. The Attack skill is important to all three methods of combat; Mage, Melee and Range. To train Attack you will need to select "accurate" Attack styles, which are located
in the upper left of the Combat menu, it is important to note that the Attack method will be named differently depending on the weapon you are using. As you gain Attack levels you will notice that you
will hit your opponent more often and will be able to wield stronger weapons.
Calypso Rain Adamant Body
Depending upon the weapons you wield you may receive Bonuses and Penalties for certain types of Attacks. By clicking the body icon on your RuneScape tool bar you can see the effects a certain wielded
weapon will have on your Attack skill in the areas of stab, slash, crush, magic and range.
Attack Bonuses
- Stab - a penetrating attack, commonly awarded with daggers and similar weapons. Stabbing attacks are effective against chainmail.
- Slash - a very common "swiping" attack. Effective against light armor like robes or Dragonhide.
- Crush - a common attack with Maces, Hammers and Mauls. It's very effective against heavy armor like platemail.
- Magic - often negated by armor and weapons, but can be increased with staffs. Allows you to hit harder with Magic.
- Ranged - Often negated by full helmets and armor. It allows you to hit harder with ranged equipment.
