If you aspire to achieve the greatness of Robin Hood, Range is the combat method for you. The Ranging skill will allow you to attack opponents from great distances, using a variety of projectile weapons. All Ranged weapons use on of three attacking styles: accurate, rapid and long range.
When using Range in combat you can not attack a player character (PC) or non player character (NPC) if you do not have a direct line of sight. When NPC's are attacked using a Ranging projectile in combat they will attempt to run at their attacker and attack them in hand to hand combat. Therefore if you shoot an NPC from the other side of a small obstacle using it as a barrier (ex. through a window) the NPC will not be able to fight back which prohibits you from taking on any damage. There is an 80% chance of keeping any projectile fired. However it will only remain on the ground and available for retrieval for a few moments.
Amulet of Accuracy
Leather and dragon hide armor will provide you with various Defense bonuses (stab, slash, crush, magic and range) as well as an Attack bonus. As you equip better weapons your attack bonus will raise accordingly. Arrows provide no bonuses but the stronger the arrows you use the more damage you can inflict on your enemies.
